The Word of God
We believe that the Bible is the complete Word of God, that the sixty-six books are fully inspired and without error in the original manuscripts, written under the verbal inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and that it has supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
(2 Tim.3:16-17; 2 Pet.1:20-21; 1 Thess.3:13)
The Trinity
We believe that there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three Persons — God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit; that these are equal in every divine perfection, and that they execute distinct but harmonious offices in the work of Creation, Providence, and Redemption.
(Gen.1:1,2; Matt.28:19; John 1:1-14,18; John 10:30; 14:16-18,23,26; 16:7-11)
God the Father
We believe in God, the Father, an infinite, personal Spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love. We believe that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men, that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.
(John 4:24; Isa.44:6; 1 John 4:8,10)
Jesus Christ, the Son
We believe in the absolute and essential Deity of Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, of His eternal existence with the Father in His pre-incarnate glory. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles and teachings. We believe in His substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into Heaven, perpetual intercession for His people, and personal visible return to earth.
(John 1:1-12,14; Rom.5:8; Luke 24:39; Acts 1:11; Heb.7:25; 1 John 2:1)
The Holy Spirit
We believe in the absolute and essential Deity and Personality of the Holy Spirit who came forth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness and judgment, and to regenerate, sanctify, and empower, illuminate and comfort all who believe in Jesus Christ. We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Christ, and that He is an abiding Helper,
Teacher and Guide.
(John 14:10-18,26; 15:26; 16:7-15; Rom.8:9,14)
Satan
We believe in the reality and personality of Satan, the author and the instigator of sin. We believe him to be man’s great tempter, the accuser of the brethren, the arch enemy of God, His Christ, and the saints. We also believe that we as believers must be aware of his intent to come between ourselves and the perfection that Christ would have us attain.
(Isa.14:12-15; 1 Peter 5:8; Eph.2:2; Rev.12:10)
Man
We believe that God created man after His own image (Gen.1:26), not by evolution. Through disobedience to God he became a fallen creature, totally depraved, and is now spiritually dead in trespasses and sin. Thus he is spiritually bankrupt and completely dependent on the mercy of God for his salvation and regeneration.
(Eph.2:1-3; Rom.5:12; John 3:19-20; 1 Tim.1:8-11; John 1:12-13; Titus 3:4-5)
Regeneration
We believe that all men are sinners by nature and choice and are, therefore, under condemnation. We believe that those who repent of their sins and trust in Jesus Christ as Saviour are regenerated by the Holy Spirit.
(John 3:3-7; Rom.3:10,23; 6:23; 10:9-13; 1 Peter 1:23)
The Church
We believe in the universal church, a living spiritual body of which Christ is the Head and all regenerated persons are members. We believe the local church is autonomous, consisting of a company of believers in Jesus Christ who have been baptized on a credible profession of faith and have associated themselves together for worship, work, and fellowship. We believe that God has laid upon the members of the local church the primary task of presenting the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost world. We believe that its leaders are Pastors, Elders and Deacons.
(Acts 2:41,47; Col.1:18; Matt.28:19-20; Acts 14:23; 1 Peter 5:1-3)
Christian conduct
We believe that a Christian should live for the glory of God and the well-being of his fellow men; that his conduct should be blameless before the world; that he should be a faithful steward of his possessions; and that he should seek to realize for himself and others the full stature of maturity in Christ. (1 Cor.6:19,20; 2 Cor.6:14-18; 2 Peter 3:14)
The Ordinances
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ has committed two ordinances to the local church: Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. We believe that Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the Name of the Triune God. We believe that the Lord’s Supper was instituted by Christ for believers to commemorate His death till He come. (Matt.28:19; 1 Cor.11:23-25)
Religious Liberty
We believe that every Christian has direct relations with God, and is responsible to God in all matters of faith, and to the Church, according to the rules laid down by our Lord in Matthew 18:15-17, and by the Apostle Paul in Romans 14:15; 1 Corinthians 8:9-13; 1 Corinthians 10:23-33. Further that each church is independent and must be free from any ecclesiastical or political authority; that therefore church and state must be kept separate as having different functions, each fulfilling its duties free from dictation or patronage of the other.
(Rom.13:1; 14:12; 1 Tim.2:1-3; 1 Peter 3; John 18:26)
Civil Government
We believe that civil government is of divine appointment for the interest and good order of society; that magistrates are to be prayed for, conscientiously honoured and obeyed, except only in the things opposed to the will of our Lord Jesus Christ, Who is the only Lord of the conscience and Prince of the kings of the earth.
(Rom.13:1-7; 1 Peter 2:17; 1 Tim.2:1-4)
Church Co-operation
We believe that local churches can best promote the cause of Jesus Christ by working together with one another in a denominational organization, so long as such organization is true to the Word of God and is in agreement with our Statement of Faith. Such an organization, whether regional or national, exists and functions by the will of the participating churches. We reserve the right to co-operate with other evangelical churches or denominations, when such co-operation is for the spread of the Gospel message, as in evangelistic campaigns, or the increase of Christian maturity in our members, provided they are of like precious Faith.
Last Things
We believe in the personal, visible, and glorious return of the Lord Jesus Christ to earth and the establishment of His kingdom. We believe in the resurrection of the body, the final judgment, the eternal felicity of the righteous, and the endless suffering of the wicked.
(Matt.24; John 14:2,3; 1 Thess.4:14-18; Rev.20-22)
